报告人简介：John Christopher Meyer’s brief introduction：John Meyer is a Lecturer of Applied Mathematics. John Meyer obtained his MSci degree in Mathematics from the University of Birmingham in 2009. He went on to study a PhD in Applied Mathematics at the University of Birmingham, which was completed in 2013. Following two post-doctoral positions he was appointed as a Lecturer in Applied Analysis at the University of Birmingham in 2015. John Meyer teaches Applied Nonlinear Dynamical Systems, Research Skills (Supervision) etc. courses. Supervision of dissertations for students enrolled on the MSc in Financial Engineering and the MSc in Mathematical Modelling. His research is in the field of analysis of nonlinear differential equations, Reaction-diffusion theory, maximum principles, quasi-linear parabolic partial differential equations, chemical reaction modelling. He has published research papers in a variety of mathematical journals such as Proc. R. Soc. Lond. A, and so on. In addition a monograph, co-authored with Prof. D. J. Needham has been published by CUP 2014.
